Entre el 9 y el 13 de mayo, los antiguos romanos celebraban la Lemuralia o Lemuria, la fiesta de los lémures, en la que se ofrecían judías negras a los espectros con la esperanza de hacerlos propicias; se usaban también ruidos fuertes para alejarlos. En la mitología romana los lemures (lémures) eran los espíritus malvados; eran la versión maligna de los lares, los entes protectores del hogar.
Y aunque la canción de Therion sea por el continente perdido (primo hermano de la Atlántida) me mola ponerla hoy, 9 de mayo.
Curiosamente, el continente perdido de Lemuria fue inventado por los geografías del XIX para explicar la existencia de lémures (el animal) en Asia y África. Y estos simpáticos mamíferos recibieron su nombre de la mitología romana debido a sus aullidos, sus ojos brillantes y sus hábitos nocturnos.
Vamos, que en el fondo sí viene a cuento. Total, escuchar a los Therion siempre viene a cuento.
