Hay un libro introductorio de reciente publicación (en inglés) bastante ameno: The Wise King: A Christian Prince, Muslim Spain, and the Birth of the Renaissance de Simon Doubleday.
El libro avanza más o menos cronológicamente pero organiza los capítulos de forma temática, dedicados a las pasiones e intereses del rey (los juegos, la legislación, el amor, la astronomía/astrología). Quizás un lector español, que se conoce bastante mejor que el anglosajón la Castilla de la Reconquista, quiera más detalle, pero como introducción es muy recomendable (y escrita por un especialista y con buena bibliografía para profundizar).

En concreto, esta última recomendación me parece muy interesante; lástima que mi inglés no sea tan fluido... |
